Dory is back! She is on a soccer team & plans to score a billion goals. Rosabelle is old-timey & George is acting like a baby. Plus aliens & Mrs. Gobblegracker. Hilarious from start to finish. All my library's copies were checked out within 8 minutes. #kidlit #elementaryschoollibrary #readaloud

Just read “Grandpa Grumps” and “The Bad Seed” with kindergarten today. They hadgreat examples what might make someone grumpy. When writing this, I realized that there is a sequel to Daisy & Yeh-Yeh’s story! Can’t wait to share it with them.

A parent came in looking for a book about school that wouldn't suggest things to worry about. Fortunately, we had just gotten in "Alpaca Goes Back-a to School" by @sudiptabq.bsky.social and Leeza Hernandez. Great for sharing excitement about a new school year. #picturebook #kidlit #readaloud

Got to share "¡Mistaco!" by @elizakinkz.bsky.social w students today. They loved the humor of Izzy's plight. Even better, I saw them in the cafeteria later. No tacos so we turned their lunches into "Mis" opportunities: Mis-tofu, Mis-sandwich, Mis-Steak. They couldn't get enough. #kidlit #picturebook

My students always love hearing "Chez Bob" by @bobshea.bsky.social. A few dark souls will cry out with a delighted "he's going to eat them!" when the birds end up in Bob's mouth.

My favorite sentence: "Birds flew in from all over the world to eat on Bob's face."

Mock Caldecott Contender: “Dalmartian” by Lucy Ruth Cummins. Students loved seeing the ways that the “guest” wasn’t so much like a dog and exploring the limited palette throughout. A fun read aloud.
