And what allows them to rationalize anything is an underlying mistrust of all institutions--political, academic, journalistic, medical, scientific, artistic, etc. The US far right has been working to undermine trust in those civil society institutions since WWII ended...and it's now bearing fruit.

I’m so tired of handing our country over to fascists because we keep sabotaging our own party. We will have plenty of time to find the perfect and flawless leader after this is over, but right now we need everyone that’s fighting back - and Gavin is doing that better than most right now.

I’ve watched most if not all his episodes, and he’s always defended the trans community. If I had any evidence to the contrary, I’d have no problem changing my mind on him.

If I had any proof of that, I’d agree in a heartbeat. Him defending the trans community on conservative podcasts, addressing and disarming their transphobic narratives, and providing a safe haven for the community in CA is far more than most Dems are doing right now.

Sports cheats? No, he’s just advocating for a smarter approach to prevent the handful of cases where there was an unfair advantage. I’d rather the left determines the correct approach rather than the transphobes.

I’m not aware of any such words or actions, he was one of the first high profile supporters of the LGBTQ community and is very vocal about his advocation for and protection of trans rights. Just heard him reaffirm that the other day.

It’s not nearly the issue transphobes make it out to be, I agree and so does Gavin. But there have been a handful of cases where it caused a clear unfair advantage and we could use a smarter approach to prevent those like hormone-based eligibility or something.

Maybe I’m missing something, but last I knew he still strongly defends and advocates for the trans community. He’s against the current trans sports issue as it currently exists, but that has everything to do with fairness and nothing to do with transphobia & it disarms MAGA’s biggest talking point.

No? He’s doing nothing to stand up against him, and has mostly conservative stances. Gavin has been a huge defender and advocate for leftist issues, including for LGBTQ community, despite the narrative on here. He was literally the first to defy state law by issuing same sex marriage licenses.
