If you’ve grown up in Tokyo your whole life, and a real snow adventure suddenly appears… there’s no way you’re saying no, right?
🗼Back in Tokyo already!🗼

In 2026 as well, together with Japanese mythology, music, words, and all of you.
I look forward to another year with you.
January 1, 2026 at 11:45 AM
This year will begin with recording sessions, as I am currently working on a new album.
I will also continue to update The In-Between: Mother and Artist series little by little.
(To be honest, I had hoped to finish the Western Japan tour chapters within the year—oh well!)

On New Year’s Eve, I prepared osechi, traditional Japanese New Year dishes, right up until the very last moments before the year changed.
January 1, 2026 at 11:44 AM
As I am observing a period of mourning, I am unable to offer New Year’s greetings, but I sincerely look forward to your continued kindness and connection this year as well. 🌏✨

The feeling that everything becomes new in the span of a single night was bright, almost to the point of shaking the soul.

This year, once again, I was supported by so many people.
To those with whom long-standing connections have continued, and to those with whom new connections were formed, I extend my heartfelt thanks.

📕The Brink Mothers Stand On

Why couldn’t I ask for help?
Why did I believe I had to do everything myself?
Why did I feel I had to push until I was nearly collapsing?
Because I chose to give birth?

Mothers in Japan tend to push themselves to their limits.
Stoically, desperately, silently.
As if they must endure hardship to avoid criticism,
smiling awkwardly, bowing, apologizing with every step—
because doing so makes life move more smoothly.

My husband is constantly away on business trips.

Traveling between being a mother and an artist.
----
I screamed inside my head: This was not the deal.
“You said there would be someone to watch Mini-Tumi during the events!”
I had made it clear from the beginning that if I traveled, my two-year-old would travel with me.

From Yaotsu Town Hall to the Chiune Sugihara Memorial Hall.
Port of Humanity, Tsuruga Museum.
And then to Fukuyama (Hiroshima).

🔥Still on the way🔥

Savoring the joy of being able to laugh and say "this is tough" together.

Excited to share that Lithuanian author Agnė Žagrakalytė is visiting Japan!
For our reading tour of “Noble Rogues ”, we will explore locations connected to Chiune Sugihara together.
Tomorrow, we’ll pay a courtesy visit to Yaotsu Town, Gifu Prefecture, his birthplace. #ArtJourney #MotherAndArtist

A quiet beginning of a new journey.
This tour is for “Noble Rogues – 華麗なるスパイたち –”,
a story I once translated — now brought to life through reading.
Traveling with my 2-year-old, chasing words instead of melodies.

Restarting The In-Between: Mother and Artist.
Not perfect. Not complete. Just real.
Writing again, as I am — between motherhood and art.

Joined the opening of the European photo exhibition seeeu at Europe House (EU Delegation to Japan).
Reconnected with old friends and met Belarusian artist Sasha Velichko, whose words about freedom and peace truly resonated.
Peace isn’t something that just exists—it’s something we must keep creating.

Chaos mode: ON!
Mini-Tumi didn’t get sick all summer (so proud!)—but now Ekotumi’s been the one down with fatigue.
I realized that waiting for life to “calm down” means nothing ever begins.
So I’m back to what I do best: running through the chaos.

Last weekend, Mini-Tumi surprised everyone — including me — by joining the performance with Katsutoshi Shirasuna.
Hand in hand, we danced, mother and daughter.
Reality may defy our plans, but it always gives us meaning.
