My baby brother had whooping cough when I was maybe 6 years old. He was fine in the end, and it was half a century ago, but I can still remember what it sounded like. It’s not a sound you ever want to hear.

A possible solution re coursework assignments (and I realise this would be a lot of effort) would be a mini viva. “In this section you have cited two papers, which do you think best supports your argument and why ?” That’d soon show up anyone who wasn’t familiar with the subject matter.

Some of my course modules are shared with Biomedicine. Those exams are in person pen & paper, or the course loses its Biomedical Society accreditation.
