I do know how to use a straight razor, and I could probably build a basement...but getting a permit for it in San Diego would be the real killer.

They were pretty damn good, wish you were here to share some with you!

Haha that's a lot more prep work than I'm interested in for an evening!
November 28, 2025 at 2:12 AM
Oh I bet that's going to be so much fun!
November 25, 2025 at 1:43 AM
Hell yeah, foil hat club! Which game were you playing, and did the game require the foil hat or was this extra curricular?

Man it's a lot of fun, forging is a whole world unto itself. Once you make the plunge you're going to have so much fun. You should find a blacksmithing place near by and sign up for a class!

Both are good for different things, what will you mostly be wanting to do?
I'm not going to give you advice if you don't want it, I'm genuinely curious what you want to make.

Oh shit that's rad!! I didn't know they rolled this out, so cool!

They're so amazing, I don't know how I got by for so long with an abrasive cutoff saw
November 20, 2025 at 8:06 PM
I don't get it

It's funny, I did literally that on the belt grinder for the piece I needed. Making a work table that isn't tiny
November 19, 2025 at 7:12 PM
Haha it can't look any worse than mine

It's seriously so damn good, incredible what 3d printing is like these days

I am very much in the same boat, I don't weld often enough to keep that muscle memory current and have to relearn every time I pick up a torch...but hey, at least we CAN get some metal together. Also, the grinder doesn't care how ugly the welds are haha

I hadn't realized how much my old welder was holding me back, it's incredible how inexpensive and good the new inverter welders are at laying down nice beads.
