Crime is never going to be a non issue, but police helping to reduce is a myth.

Well, cops are really bad at solving murders and do virtually nothing when it comes to petty crime beyond making you do paperwork. Smarter people than myself have suggested other structures to replace policing, but my point is that taking them out won't make things worse.

But even taking out cops in our current society would be a net positive, since they terrorize the most marginalized communities while only protecting the interests of the upper classes. We need to change our whole society, but not having police is a good start. Replace them with social workers.

Crime is not going to stop. Cops are notoriously bad at stopping crime. But you improve material conditions and crime is reduced. You create a real community and crime is reduced. Mutual aid, etc.
