TGI Fridays here in Japan are operated under a franchise agreement by Watami Co, Ltd. Bankruptcy in the US doesn’t affect the franchise agreement, and actually TGI Fridays here are quite successful because they’re all in great locations. The Harajuku one seems to always be bopping.

Im American but moved to Japan in 2021, shortly after the election. Crazy that it’s happening all over again. It feels a bit surreal to “be American” but be so far removed from the country that it’s basically just a blip on the front page every so often.

Also, as a fan of the format, I appreciate the optimistic take that everything was going to be on MiniDiscs in the future 🤣

I have no idea how he does it, it’s crazy how prolific of a writer he is. And while the titles are flippant, the writing is actually…readable? Damned if I didn’t read every page of “Pounded In the Butt by the Existential Dread I May Be a Character in a Chuck Tingle Story”.

However the information gets into your brain is valid. With some books I’ll even do both, especially if it’s read by the author.
