US media is obsessed with one-off crime coverage. This should've been a single story on the day, another if/when there is a memorial service, maybe one more if there's a sentencing. None on the front-page/above the fold.

Bsky should just allow long posts with some basic formatting. Can make it a separate post type that shows up elsewhere in UI if there are concerns about crossing streams.

Not saying it makes financial sense, just that it's not a clear cut case of "it won't work"

To be fair, there are *a lot* of unknowns here. SpaceX might bring down per kg costs, or go with larger, lighter satellites, or ride-share with other missions, or opposition to terrestrial data centers might rise, or terrestrial power costs might go up, or... or... or...

That's silly. Sure there is. It costs money to run social media. Something like atproto lowers the costs, but even bsky will eventually have to monetize.

Like, no part of this thing should be pulling in Webpack (older versions) or Vite (newer versions) and doing anything with those. Give me the internal tools that resolve story files, some plugins to transpile them, and let me feel all of that to my Vite config manually. /smdh
