Shale was one of the standouts in DAO for me. All the companions are gold imo, but Shale, Wynne, and Morrigan are my favorites. I so hoped I’d get to see Shale again in a Dragon Age game. Alas.

Now that I think of it Dragon Age (and Chakwas in ME) are one of the few games I can remember ever seeing older women play a prominent role in. I’m sure there are other examples, but it’s sad that it’s fairly rare.
