government policy but at least it should make people…respect the protesters and try to understand why they feel as they do…After all, if you were rich enough to afford a Drysdale and you learned that Russell Drysdale was right against the war, it’d make you want to find out why, wouldn’t it?' (2/2)

their opposition to the Vietnam War, its violence against civilians and the conscription of young Australian men. The difference is that in 1970, the blocking was carried out by the LNP, whereas ALP leader Gough Whitlam was firmly behind the Moratorium and its humanitarian aims. (2/2)
