The Mystic River Watershed Association has been a champion for our local environment for half a century, and it was an honor to shine a light on their critical mission to restore habitat, protect water quality, educate our youth, and fight climate change right here in Somerville.

It was so joyous to join @masspeaceaction.bsky.social’s backyard fundraiser. I’m grateful for their steadfast advocacy to stop the genocide and mass starvation in Gaza, end the Ukraine war, and protest Raytheon and other nuclear weapon and arms manufacturers.

MA is among 39 states where there are no laws preventing police from lying during interrogations. We must take action to stop these coerced confessions that lead to so many wrongful convictions.

We learned about legislation to prevent unspeakable injustices at the Wrongful Conviction Day Briefing. One of the leading causes of wrongful convictions is still legal in Massachusetts: coerced false confessions.

It was truly a joy to reconnect with Eddie Wright who won his freedom and exoneration this summer after 41 years in prison for a wrongful conviction that should have been overturned decades ago. Welcome home Eddie!

Just voted early in the Somerville Preliminary election! Polls are open at Somerville City Hall today until 4:30pm and tomorrow, Wednesday 9/11 from 8:30am to 7:30pm!
