I think it's less that there's not many exclusives, and more that the biggest hitters aren't there yet, Mario Kart notwithstanding. No mainline Zelda or 3D Mario announced yet, for example.

I think this game's biggest problem is that it emphasizes the routes between courses too much. If you did the routes, then a full three-lap race on the mext course, I think the game would have been received better.
