Fond of books, books, books, movies, great music, especially rock and roll, and an unabashed liberal, father of four daughters, fascinated by nature and just trying to figure it all out while remaining upright.
The funny thing about this photo is if the two brawled, she would kick his ass. Here is to hoping she starts insulting his masculinity because his shallow ego can't take it.

Why do Dems keep falling for BS? This woman is not having a "transformation" - she is pissed because she has been ignored by the Orange Turd.

Recall, the 1697 play The Mourning Bride by William Congreve: "Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, / Nor Hell a fury like a woman scorned".

The main reason I am so fearful for the future of this country is based on the theories & findings of the social scientist Emile Durkheim. Durkheim believed that a culture & society need a collective consciousness when it comes to being a well-functioning society. And for this to happen,

I wonderfully enjoyed my participation of the No Kings protest. The two most powerful things for me were to see the vast number of older Americans & how it recharged my own batteries by exposing me to so many wonderful people. However, some things could have made it more effective. For example,

The Democratic Party must lean into the comment from the Queen Bee MAGA Cult spokeswoman. To me, it is far worse than the exaggerated "deplorable" comment.

“The Democrat Party’s main constituency are made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals,” Leavitt said.

I attended

My father, Monte Ellis, of Fulton County, IL, was a wildlife artist & proficient in all mediums of art, from drawings to sculptures to paintings. He passed in 2009 & for the longest time, I never fully appreciated the genius that he was. In America, he was a starving artist.

This is a true story: while in the army back in 1992, not long after the US Supreme Court ruled the burning of a US Flag was considered protected speech, I found myself standing next to a military police sergeant looking up at a waving US Flag outside of the Army's

I wonder if this SOB ICE Agent who shoved this woman to the ground in front of her children has his own family & how his ass would feel if someone treated them the same way if heavily distraught, confused, & having little idea what is going on. I doubt he will be off long. I hope she sues his ass.

It has dawned on me that we may now know why so many media conglomerates, CEOs, & owners have grown to pledge fealty to the Adjudicated-Rapist-In-Chief - more of them than we know are in the Epstein Files & it is becoming clearer why there has been little action: From the Drudge Report

Do you like dark & nasty crime flicks? Check out Five Minutes to Live (aka, Door to Door Maniac). Johnny Cash's portrayal is off the board in sociopathy & terror. Free on YouTube and with no commercials. It is a disturbing but very decent crime flick & Cash's acting will not be forgotten soon.

We on the Left are so good at getting played over & over again & by the same people. Each time we hear a Murkowski, Collins, Ernst, or any other Republican offer the seemingly last exasperated gasp regarding the Orange Shit Gibbon, out comes the Lucy & Charlie Brown show to remind us all over again

The UK's Restless from 2024 is one of the most dreadfully suspenseful films I have seen in some time. It portrays the downward spiral of a middle-aged woman as she deals with her unruly new neighbor. The ending is so outstanding & satisfying & I doubt any will see it coming - I know I didn't.

Here's what needs to be put to male MAGA & rightwing bigots who believe things can turn a person gay: if so, then how in the hell in all of YOUR views of porn mags & movies - all with plenty of penis depictions & presence - are you assholes not gay? THAT'S how idiotic your hypothesis is, asshole.

I witnessed almost the same thing in the army. It was after Clinton was elected & while in the day room, the male soldiers were complaining about having gays in the shower staring at their business. Right after this clip, the CNN reporter came on the screen &

Now, here is another gem I have never seen: Ray Winstone in Scum from 1979. This is a brutal & enraging film (there is also an earlier version from 1977 that is supposedly even more brutal). Winstone, around 22 at the time, plays an incarcerated young male & the horrors involved. Just brutal.

Folks, folks, folks, if you were a fan of HBO's first season of True Detective, then Spain's 2014 Marshland might be just the right fit. This is, hands down, one of the best police/detective procedurals I have seen in a long time, if not, ever. Outstanding & streaming for free all over.

My father, Monte Ellis (1939-2009) from Fulton County, IL, was the most talented person I've ever known. He was a wildlife artist of all mediums, a naturalist, a musician, & brilliant person. To me, he was a genius. I'm not trying

Ponder this for a moment: The Nazis, SS, and Gestapo never wore masks, nor those at WWII concentration camps, but our fellow Americans do. How sick is that?

Well, after months of bread baking and messing with sourdough starters and levains, I can confidently state this: dealing with the levain after it blooms is as big of a pain in the ass as that booger you couldn't get off your

Never Let Go - from 1960 with a stellar performance by Peter Sellers. I wish I could take credit for finding this gem, but that goes to writer Andrew Nette @pulpcurry.bsky.social. THIS is a gem & free on YouTube with no commercials.

Part One:

Let me share a story that shows MAGA Cult members are unreachable.

I worked with this one Marine (I was in the Army when much younger) & what many outside of the military experience do not realize, Marines have a completely different mindset when it comes to military service when

Here is what I want to know: where are all the across-the-board influential people, especially younger ones, in all this horror going on? Why is it so many older codgers are stirring the most good trouble? Where are the well-known scholars, left-leaning capitalists & so many others, and not just

I believe that when it comes to reading, there is something out there for everyone that will ignite their desire for reading - if they can find it. I imagine if these book-banning zealots get their way, Flowers in the Attic will be one of the books banned.
