Ok I feel like we’re somehow talking about different situations entirely.

If you are already in Lane D (exit only lane) there is no need to continue to signal because you are not making any change that could affect other drivers. You are simply continuing in your path of travel.

Thanks! It clearly says to indicate before you make the change. The change would be getting into the exit ramp lane. It doesn’t say “keep signalling after you change lanes”. It’s not an intersection (which is a situation where you SHOULD keep signalling until you complete a turn).

I agree that this is the law & also that it makes sense. But it doesn’t stipulate that you must continue to signal when you are remaining in your current lane. “Leaving the roadway” means turning off a street/road/highway, not continuing in an active lane that happens to diverge from the highway.
