115) Frankenstein (1931)

It’s quite good for 1930’s standards, however the monster doesn’t come off as sympathetic as I been led to believe by years of parody media. Neither does Dr. Frankenstein himself doesn’t come off as crazy as I thought he’d be.

From what I get this isn’t a great adaptation.

Idk if I wanna meet someone who’s favorite mon is Jynx or Bruxish.

114) Spawn (1997)

This was way more crime drama than I was expecting but damn, was it nice.

Spawn has always been more flash than substance, but his tragic character really got to me in some scenes. I also liked Twitch and Sam, I wish they were around more.

113) Elite Beat Agents

PEAK DS GAME

Absolutely incredible charm and gameflow. Shit hyped me up more than any DS game probably has.

112) Red Earth

GORGEOUS sprite art for a Capcom arcade game. And extremely interesting concepts in terms of mixing RPG elements in a fighting game. I can only imagine how a modern refined take on this concept could go.

These characters need to come back. Especially Tessa.

Or just Tessa.

111) Halo: Reach

Damn… Another pretty decent Halo campaign, but this one stands above the rest for its pretty tragic story.

It’s nothing too overt or anything, but the simplicity really works. Made that last mission hit harder.

110) Deadstream

Interesting little film about a controversial streamer staying a night in a haunted house to try and regain some of his popularity.

They really sold me on the accuracy of copying clickbait youtuber types, as well as the effects and POV cameras made it so cool.

109) Happy Death Day

I mean I really like Groundhog Day, and this was just another take on the death loop format, so yeah this was really good too. It was done with just as much thought for the main character’s progress too. Really good slasher!

108) Bloodborne

After officially sitting down and giving it a proper dive, I can finally say FromSoft games are not for me.

I totally understand the appeal now, but I got stuck at a boss and depleted my 60+ blood vial supply and I’m like “lol no” not gonna grind all that back til a few months.

107) The Blob (1988)

That was a really well paced slowburn and follow-through with the tension, I really liked it. I forgot I was watching a horror for the first like 25 min, felt like an 80’s teen coming of age thing lol.

I actually liked the chars too, I didn’t want most of em to get blob’d.

106) Kirby: Triple Deluxe

This is the year I mod my 3DS, and finally play the Kirby games I missed.

This one was… Fine. It’s baseline good, but for Kirby that may as well be mid.

I’m just not big on the two-plains or motion gimmicks, though commend them for taking advantage of the 3DS

it alright

105) Addams Family Values

Holy shit this one is like 4x funnier than the first one. Made me laugh out loud more than once, which is an achievement cuz ain’t no movies do that for me anymore

The plot kinda feel like “stuff just happens” and not everyone gets to do something but it’s so funny my god

104) Dawn of the Dead (1978)

I can see where Dead Rising came from. This one was kinda neat, kinda weird. The characters were eh. The scenes of them fighting zombies and fucking around the mall were fun. I liked the zombie worldbuilding(?)

But overall? It’s alright. Maybe the remake is better?

103) Scream 2

I’m still a big fan of the first Scream and the sequel didn’t disappoint. The version I watched was zoomed in, instead of widescreen, so I’ll definitelt have to come back to it again.

102) Tron: Ares

Tron goes to the real world dude.

Super bland nothingburger with decent visuals and music.

I could care less for the story or characters. Massive snore.

4/10

I didn’t know about the AI marketing, is that true??

101) Army of Darkness

Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell go full Looney Tunes and I am all here for it. These movies just get wilder and crazier with the special effects, and the batshit insanity that unfolds. These movies are nothing if not an absolute fun time.

Also Deadites are just assholes, lmao.

100) Peacemaker

James Gunn sure loves his dysfunctional found families. But Peacemaker surprised me. Both seasons were better than I thought, though S1 I’m feeling like 8/10, and S2 a 6/10. Just felt lacking by comparison, and the finale felt like a big To Be Continued

What was up with the eagle

So cool that I share a birthday with Mortal Kombat.

99) Homestuck - The Animated Pilot

Idk anything about Homestuck and probly never will but I enjoyed the style of this animation. Particularly the way they play around with the different chat bubbles and perspectives, idk what to call it but that was really fun.

Pretty neat, definitely not for me.
