Reminds of this snapshot I took…
I think Europe needs to move beyond being a “union” and become a federated nation (UK included) and stop acting like a bunch of pussies. Russia shouldn’t be feared as a regional hegemon but treated as the dangerous failed state it actually is.

Arrest the president. You got the evidence. That n— is Russian intelligence.

ProPublica examined months of Fox News’ coverage and reviewed over 700 videos posted on social media.

The network used five-year-old footage, mislabeled other dates and implied footage from elsewhere was in Portland.

After reviewing coverage from the network and hours of social media videos that preceded Trump’s decision, ProPublica found that Fox’s portrayal of “Portland rioters” routinely instigating violence wa...

If you look at what Trump is doing and compare it to what a Russian agent would do were they to become president, the only real difference is that the Russian agent would probably be more subtle, and seem less mentally ill.

The Running Man remake is a better movie than the reviews make out. It looks like the studio forced changes based on test audience feedback and tacked on a terrible start to make the whole thing more palatable to idiots. But it’s a very angry movie which wants to burn Wall Street not occupy it.

I’m looking forward to finding out who gets the FIFA prize for Medicine.

I’m increasingly annoyed by the stupidity way #apple music has screwed up the essentials playlists. It’s now basically an extended version of the top songs list proportional in size to their current popularity (aside from “hall of famers”) rather than what is used to be: why this artist matters.

It’s pretty funny watching a hardware review guy comparing an M4 MacBook Air to the latest Surface Pro and being just incredulous how awful the latter’s performance is (the Premiere export test was won by the Mac with about 3x speed and it was on battery while the Surface was plugged in.

Today’s purple category was pretty bad but yesterday’s (European capitals missing their second last letter) was some kind of record worst.

Very pleased to be seeing cricket highlights again. It’s been a while and the players are pretty much all new to me.

I had an interesting wordle day yesterday. Wordlebot thought I was less skillful and less lucky than the average player but got the correct answer faster. I don’t understand how that can be possible

The new Emma Thompson movie—Dead of Winter—could have been much better without ten minutes of flashbacks that read like a desperately bad version of the beginning of UP, or alternatively could have been a hilarious parody if they’d just leaned a bit harder into them. As it is, it’s meh.

I can’t claim any great insight as an investor but when GOOG stock wobbled after the OpenAI and nVidia surges I thought it might be time to sell. So I waited for a sign GOOG was going to start falling…

Still waiting.

Is `@property` the worst architectural decision since DLL hell or is it actually worse than DLL hell?

I guess it’s not as bad because DLL hell wasn’t so bad that people just immediately said “hell no, deprecate that shit”.

My latest small software library, written in the last 24h with the help of Gemini 3.

Interesting bonus: it turns out to be particularly good for defining schemas that can be used directly with OpenAI’s finicky API (and works fine with Gemini’s less finicky API).

Ever wished for a universal language for describing data? I once built a JavaScript tool to do just that, but it never quite caught on. Now, it seems JSON Schema is stepping into the spotlight, and I'...

I asked Gemini 3 Thinking about #McDonald’s hot apple pies because they’re not available in Finland but #KFC (in Finland) sells an inferior version.

What I got back was a full on campaign plan to get them back in Finland, including who specifically to contact in the franchisee company.

Gemini 3 “thinking” is very impressive. Not only is it very good but it also seems faster than 2.5 Pro.

Last night I wrote a new library by essentially promoting requirements, picking nits, and iterating. I ended up with implementation, tests, and documentation.

Apple has made low cost laptops before. The Apple eMate was $800 and the iBook G4 was $1100. This isn’t as cheap as Chromebooks but the latter was very competitive with low-end PC laptops at the time and much more capable for the money.

My wife mentioned that it’s 87 years since Krystalnacht when my father and grandfather saw violence in the streets and thought the safest place to be was on the trains, so they rode trains all night.

My father always loved trains and never assumed America couldn’t go the same way Germany did.
