Lessons Learned:
🔹 Don’t rely blindly on automation—manual checks are essential.
🔹 Test versioning and de-duplication processes rigorously.
🔹 Establish escalation protocols for anomalies.
🔹 One error can damage institutional credibility.

🎃SALARY SURGE THAT NEVER WAS
In August 2025, Statistics Estonia reported a 13.8% wage increase—twice the real figure. A versioning error duplicated salary records, and automated checks missed it. False data went public, a five-day crisis of corrections before the true numbers (5.9%) were released.
