Masks are the best first line of defence against Covid. No reason to stop masking after you get your booster. The vaccine only helps prevent serious illness. It's not great at preventing illness.

October 27. End of October. Just like last year. 🙄😟

Check with your local pharmacy beginning in early/mid October. They might give it ahead of schedule. Mine did, because they had lots and uptake was low. Give the highest risk people a chance to be first in line and then go. Never hurts to ask.

If you stopped masking, now is the time to start again.

Masks: best defence against infection.

Vaccines reduce illness severity.

Antivirals (Paxlovid) improve symptoms.

Wear a well fitted N95 indoors & in crowds. You won't regret avoiding an airborne virus, especially one as nasty as Covid.

Waste water and test positivity rate data from mid-late August were reported this week.

All Canadian provinces are experiencing a large wave of infections.

Some may have peaked already, although we need another couple of weeks of data to determine this.

Research summary thread!!
A COVID research paper found that the histamine 1 receptor (HRH1) is highly involved in enhancing COVID infection.

They also found that most H1 blockers (antihistamines, like Claritin) reduced COVID after exposure!
