I just finished season 1 of the secret lives of Mormon housewives last night. I thought this was going to be more relief society drama and snide remarks about whose kid isn’t going on a mission. Not “I’m fighting the church patriarchy by being sexy.”

It’s been 0 days since a homeschooling related injury. The shame is bigger than the cut.

1035 words written to start off 2026. I let my writing slip during the brr months, as my brain cannot tell the difference between waning daylight and actual dying, but the light is returning and so am I!

A little late, but this is the only advent calendar I cared about this year. Less chocolate, more murder.

Coming back from fall break scheduled during Halloween is the homeschooling equivalent of a hangover. My lessons? Unplanned. All of the stuff I needed to print out? Done between subjects. Was Halloween candy used as a bribe? No comment.

I finally crossed 20k today. I went into October with a little too much optimism. One of these years I’m going to remember how busy this month actually is.

Considering we’re having to run the heater now, Norse mythology feels timely. I also got some help from The Kid on setup. He says he understands what the internet wants. #secularhomeschool

Writing a novel set during the golden age of mommy blogging is making me nostalgic for the pre-TikTok world. Going down a blog rabbit hole was so much more fun than the algorithm force feeding me rage bait and sponcon.

But did I relax in the warm autumn sunlight, enjoying the pops of oranges and reds that are now appearing? Not a chance, but we did read another two chapters of The Trumpet of the Swan.

Accepted at 9 pm that I probably wasn’t getting raptured and made myself start writing. Not bad for an hour of work.
