My son is the same except he’s the opposite of a yuppie — I try to get him to eat all sorts of foods but he primarily wants red baron pepperoni pizzas. 🤷‍♂️

Yes there are a number of ways to do the redirect, the point again is that an HTTP to HTTPS redirect isn't something that necessarily /should/ always happen (even if it should in almost all cases), and isn't on its own an indicator that something is broken.

Yes and HTTPS is the correct and best solution to use almost always, the point I was making originally was in reference to an HTTP to HTTPS redirect "supposing" to happen, which isn't necessarily true and in some cases HTTP may be chosen for reasons that might not put a premium on end-user security.

And browsers do indeed, correctly, tell you that a site isn't secure (because it isn't), but not everything needs to be secured.

I am not wrong, and the linked article stating "if you think youre smart enough to not use HTTPS everywhere youre wrong" is usually right. However, the site in question here is an ideal example of a site that gains no real benefit from HTTPS protection.

redirecting from http to https is a decision made by the application owner and isn't necessarily something that should happen automatically. there are good reasons for either option, in cases of sites that have no login or user information storage, HTTP availability offers better accessibility

If there’s only one business in a segment this makes sense, but if you have 10 auto manufacturers that improve ads to the point that the market is saturated, they won’t stop improving ads because now they need to capture market share from the other 9 manufacturers.

This is something you can do yourself fairly easily if you own the lawdork.com domain and can manage its DNS: bsky.social/about/blog/4...

It looks more intimidating than it is, but if you'd like help or have questions feel free to DM me!
