Thoughts and prayers for Cora Jane. She tried to eat Katie the resident shrew and got yelled at (by the shrew). Katie is blind and the size of Cora's foot, but somehow won the argument. She is now eating Cora's food while giving her the finger (or whatever the shrew equivalent is).
Cora, a small short-haired cat with white and grey fur, sits in an open wardrobe and stares out at the room.

Many readings of Cassandra focus on the curse & ignore how & why it was cast: She refused to fuck a God who retaliated by using his power to cloud minds against her.

Rather than a metaphor of society ignoring warnings, it's the powerful malicously supressing wisdom, particularly from women.

Slowly learning to navigate the new platform, so here's a pet picture for my first post. This is my resident shrew. She's called Katie. She isn't tame, but does come when called if there's some cat food in it for her.

Katie manages keeping mice out of my sewing room. She is very good at her job.
A northern short tail shrew searches for a pile of cat kibble that has been laid out for her on a wooden floor. Katie the shrew is mouse-sized with velvety grey fur, a short tail and a long nose. She has tiny, mostly sightless eyes that are almost completely hidden by fur, and is sniffing the air to locate her dinner.
