Nobody will care. But I am a closed adoption kid. I just found out my DNA mix. Disappointed there is no Māori. Happy there is a pinch of Italian.

Tomorrow is the day I am meant to get my DNA results. Child of closed adoption. Have no idea of my genetics. I have been hitting the refresh button since yesterday, just in case. 😆

My yard is full of birdy joy chirps today. Midsummer. Got some bowls of water out for the birds. 🌱

I am a closed adoption kid. Know nothing about my origins. I am hoping DNA testing can tell me something. 😀

I don’t understand a culture where neighbours don’t speak to each other.

I would migrate would back to provincial New Zealand in a heartbeat if the healthcare wasn’t so atrocious.

Looking for tinnitus tips. I have managed to distract myself at times. But is there any cure? I have the kind of white noise ringing sort of tinnitus.

This is Chippie. Named before I knew it was a politician’s nickname! Good boy Chippie #petsnz

My dad (gone before his time) used the term “Uncle Louie’d” to describe people who had been evidence-based in their thinking, but were then subject to disinformation from someone forceful and influential in their lives. They then lost confidence in their own reasoning. I see this so much now.

I am a closed adoption kid. There are others out there I think but have not met one for many years.

I cut my hair to shoulder length for the first time in 30 years. I understand my rationale. But I have trauma. 😳

The opening days of this government are worse than I feared. I have never felt concern like this before about my country’s government and direction.

Serious question. How did Nicola Willis qualify to be the Minister of Finance?

Will wiping Fair Pay Agreements adversely affect more women than men?

I would be curious to know if Winston has called Chris H. And if so, what transpired.

If you had six months off work to improve your health and wellbeing — what would you do with it?

I studied the formation of modern Israel and the embroiled story of the region and its peoples in high school history classes in New Zealand. It inspired me to visit the region and live there for a year in my early twenties. It was an extraordinary year, that remains vividly with me to this day.

Take your kids to the polls, people. Saw hardly any of this, this election.

‪Saw very few young people at the polling booth today. Took an hour for the two of us to cycle through and vote (one minded dogs while the other voted). Anecdotal.‬

I have been wondering about the lives of women living in Gaza. The news reports are just so full of men.
This UN report “Social and economic situation of Palestinian women and girls” enabled me to picture the context of their lives. Reminded me I am incredibly lucky.

Aghast to hear Cal Wilson is gone. I have cool memories of her from Christchurch when we were in our late teens and early twenties. She was zany and sensible, brilliant and down-to-earth all at the same time. Her fashion and wit were both sizzling. She found her way in life magnificently. Vale Cal 😢

Both major political parties have acknowledged that climate change is the greatest challenge of our time.

Yet Aotearoa New Zealand is currently on track for up to three degrees of warming within the next 60 years which will bring extreme suffering to our whenua, communities and economy.

"Elections, and especially elections that touch on divisive social and cultural issues, are prime targets for organised disinformation campaigns and abuse, both foreign and domestic," Yoel Roth said.

I am not a major social media user but even I can see this happening here in Aotearoa NZ. Worried.

Great news that our economy is now 7.7% bigger than at the start of the pandemic… and we limboed under that recession threat and now there is no recession. And it’s spring! 🌷🌷🌷
