So brilliant to visit the Centre for Advanced Timber Technology at NMITE to meet their new cohort of Sustainable Construction degree students, as well as being able to observe a professional development course that attracts dozens of participants from all over the country!

Activists from multiple countries, including the UK, have risked their safety to try and deliver critical aid to the starving people of Gaza. They have been intercepted and detained by the IDF.

The UK cannot abide this; we must act urgently to ensure the safety of all on board.

The UK must deploy every single lever to end the genocide in Gaza and stop the expansion of Israeli occupation. That includes ending all arms sales and military cooperation, imposing tough sanctions on all responsible for war crimes, and banning imports from illegal settlements.

I welcome the fact that the UK has finally recognised the State of Palestine. This is a long-overdue affirmation of Palestinian dignity after decades of dispossession and suffering. It is one small step towards justice; but the UK can and should do far more.
