Less than a week later, we have another almost identical incident. This time with a Cathay 747-8F. The Left Main Wing Gear did not come down. Aircraft landed safely.

At Anchorage(ANC) today, a Kalitta 747-400BCF (N745CK) suffered a failure of its #4 hydraulic system which caused the main right wing gear to not deploy. All are safe but the aircraft remains stricken on the runway. The airport remains operational @airlineflyer.net @avherald.com @petchmo.bsky.social

Alaska Air Transit Cessna 208 Caravan (N645AT,*2013) overran rwy 34 on landing at Anchorage-Merrill Field AP(PAMR), AK. The aircraft crossed the busy multi-lane 5th Avenue before coming to a stop on unpaved ground about 250 meters further. No one was hurt.

2025-07-24: Alaska Airlines Boeing 737MAX8 (N801AK,*2023) sustained damage during landing on rwy 26 at Kodiak AP(PADQ), AK, USA. Flight #AS231 from Anchorage encountered multiple deer during deceleration, hitting at least one of them. No one aboard the 737 was hurt.

The ATRs were auctioned off and Wexford was the only bidder. So the Silver Airways ATRs might see service in Alaska under the Aleutian brand.

Never said they were. Just stating that Ravn is basically done for since they’ve drastically cut most of their flights. Aleutian is picking up the slack and adding capacity and flights to a lot of the markets that Ravn has left. And as I mentioned Wexford owns Sterling/Aleutian.

Those were auctioned off to Wexford Capital who also runs Sterling Airways which operates Aleutian Airways in Alaska. So I’m betting the Silver ATRs end up operating in Alaska under Aleutian’s brand. Ravn isn’t gonna last much longer.

• SAN to Phoenix (PHX) starting August 20
• SAN to Chicago (ORD) starting October 4
• SAN to Denver (DEN) starting October 4

2025-03-07: Cathay Pacific Cargo Boeing 747-800F (B-LJG, *2012) made a heavy landing short of the touchdown zone, followed by a bounce + a nosegear-first 2nd touchdown on runway 20 at Guadalajara-Intl(MMGL), Mexico. Flight #CX97 from Mexico City completed the landing safely and resumed normal ops.
