Reading articles about (archival) description of LGBTQ+, and esp gender variant people, is expanding my own view of what “transgender” is and means, and the ways that term can reinforce a binary and assert colonialism when applied nonconsensually to people of other eras and non-Western cultures.

Working on my first major paper for grad school, loosely on ethics & concerns of descriptions of trans people in archives. So far I’m hoarding as many article citations as I can find and haven’t cracked into content yet. Overwhelming, but I’m probably overcomplicating thinhs 😖📝

Welp, Insta’s new doxing feature, I mean stalking feature, I mean location sharing feature is terrifying and disgusting, so maybe I’ll finally get off that trash app and start using this one more. Gotta find a diff app to share bug & cat photos, tho.

For everyone saying it’s gonna be a long 4yrs: Did you know we are still heavily influenced by Reagan’s policies? The more you study origins for so many issues in US life & society, the more his name comes up. Even if Trump’s presidency lasts only 4yrs, we may still feel the shockwaves for decades.

We live in an age of rampant misinformation, so it’s baffling to me that people reshare boycott & protest posters and legal tips on dealing w xyz without citing their source or indicating who is organizing these things. We need to remain critical and strategic in our liberation efforts.
