JOIN ME tomorrow at the Rally for Public Education in Canmore from 11 am - 2 pm - Albertans are continuing to stand with teachers and stand up for the public education our kids deserve!
Leading up to today's first day of a Teachers' Strike, I heard from a lot of constituents concerned about a what a strike will mean for their families. Yesterday on World Teachers Day, 10s of 1000s of Albertans attended public rallies in Edmonton & Calgary, forming a massive sea of #RedforEd that was unlike anything I have ever seen before!
The UCP should not be surprised by this, after years of failing to properly plan for this contract negotiation. The UCP government is now spending a lot of time (and our money) on a media campaign trying to explain to us why they won’t invest more in education for our kids. My colleagues and I are calling on the Alberta government to invest properly in Education, "They need to come back to the table to negotiate in good faith and offer a deal that works to ensure Alberta teachers are valued and treated fairly" said Amanda Chapman, Shadow Minister for Education.
Continue to raise your voice on this issue. We will continue to push for the government to come back to the table, treat teachers with respect, and properly invest in Alberta’s classrooms.

We’ve unfortunately just learned of the first measles death recorded in Alberta related to the recent outbreaks. It is only the second in the country.

This is heartbreaking news, and incredibly sad for so many reasons.

A committee can't build a pipeline, especially when there's no route, no proponent, and no real funding. There’s also no commitment from the federal government to repeal the legislation that would make this pipeline possible.

In Danielle Smith's own words, this is an 'utter failure.'

What a great day with Plateau Cattle Company talking about cows, coal, and water in the Cabin Ridge area. Nothing is more important than our water - and this is where it all begins for the Oldman. It was an incredible day. I am buoyed by the amazing work great people are doing to protect this area.
