Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu to undergo surgery on Sunday, to remove his prostate. In July last year, when he had a pacemaker fitted, his stand-in was Justice Minister, Yariv Levin. Unclear for now if same will apply this time around.

Last night I attended the UK premier of the BBC doc on the Hamas-led terrorist attacks of Oct 7. It focuses on the Nova music festival, scene of the most murderous attack. I’d seen the most gruesome bits as part of my reporting. It was the individual stories that hit hardest. Worth watching.

IDF says the killing this morning of three Israelis by the Allenby Bridge border crossing was carried out by a truck driver who approached from Jordan, "exited the truck, and opened fire at the Israeli security forces operating at the bridge". The perpetrator was killed.
