Mostly here to read and comment, don't feel obliged to follow me.
Okay, but the "peahen" in that graphic is also a peacock. 😆 Only the males have the long tail, so they can impress the ladies. 🦚 The females are less colorful and no tail.

Nah, he's going to make a deal with them to use the airbase again. Rule of thumb with Trump is always: if they're tyrants, autocrats, fascists, he likes them and wants to do business with them. Pressure, blackmail and threats of invasion are reserved for democracies.

Question seems a bit vague? Could be interpreted as anything from throwing stones at police to assassinating politicians.

The winking furniture doesn't wink. 4/10.

I always thought Tucker mostly jumped onto the Pro-Russia train because he was following Trump. But I guess he took the train so far that he now sides with Russian ally Iran over Trump? Just incredible.

I have visited one of its starting points near Nettersheim many times over the past 10 years. Great hiking location and so many remains of gallo-roman-germanic history. 😊

It's kinda funny that they added a translation for "Fake History", but felt confident readers would understand the "Hunter" part untranslated. "Niserekishi Hunter" sounds like next big Anime smash hit. 😄

Mostly this guy. After the defeat at Teutoburg Forest the Romans decided that they didn't really want that cold, unfriendly land north-east of the Rhine anyway. (Vikings as we would define them weren't really a thing until long after the end of the Western Roman Empire.)

I think Trump can't conceive of the concept that a nation could be critical of its past deeds.
June 8, 2025 at 3:48 PM
Yeah, I don't understand why we should suddenly take Musk at his word just because it fits our confirmation basis. It's well-known that Trump has been hanging out with Epstein, claiming he's in those files is low-hanging fruits, really.

People here were wondering if there was going to be another messy Oval Office quarrel today - turns out there is, but it's not between Trump and Merz. 😆
June 5, 2025 at 7:10 PM
It probably didn't. Apparently the full dialog is:

PARIS: What's that? TORRES: That is called a jingle. According to the research I did, they inserted them into the entertainment program.

So... she had to look up the word. And its meaning. 😆

The whole concept is ludicrous. Even if the "Golden Dome" works as intended (doubtful), US generals are not going to wait and see if a nuclear ICBM touches down in Montreal, or 50 miles south of it. They'll shoot it down either way, just in case.
May 28, 2025 at 8:35 PM
The whole thing is a bit goofy, but I can't really hate it. 😄 The costumes are fabulous and most of the guys are pretty handsome.
May 28, 2025 at 7:12 AM
Also - if the Golden Dome does work, and North Korea or whoever does fire a nuclear ICBM at any point of the North American continent - are we to believe the US army is NOT going to shoot down the missile if it might land in Montreal instead of Vermont? That would still have consequences for the US.

We all knew that this had been their goal all along, but I feel their rethoric has been getting more openly brazen in recent days. I guess they feel save that Trump will abandon Ukraine one way or the other, so they don't have to pretend anymore.

SPD was polling so low, it's highly doubtful that he would have made a difference. Most people still vote for parties, not personalities. Instead of burning his chances in a hopeless race, Pistorius (rightfully) decided to decline and maybe run with better chances in 4 years.
May 21, 2025 at 12:50 PM
It is, but ironically the German army itself was never called like that. 😆It was always some combination of "Wehr" (from "wehren" = "to defend"). Before 1935 it was "Reichswehr" ("Imperial Defense") and after WW2 we just slapped "Bundes" in front of every major institution and called it a day.
May 21, 2025 at 9:58 AM
I'm not completely sure what the German word is supposed to refer to, but I'm guessing it's "Bundeswehr" = "Federal Defense". In which case: no, before 1945 the name of the army was "Wehrmacht" = "Defense force", so not that different.
May 21, 2025 at 7:57 AM
But somehow he managed to give it an even tackier name.
May 20, 2025 at 8:18 PM
I also doubt he wrote this tweet himself, or all alone at least, because there's no way he would get the names of all these heads of states/governments correctly.

I feel this whole idea of an illiberal "Nationalist's International" only works if the countries are far away enough from each other (say, USA/Hungary). But with neighboring countries, there's a high chance they harbor some amount of unresolved revanchist urges that will always sabotage them, lol.

No, it's a decorative wall built on top of the main wall, not something built around the building.
May 16, 2025 at 1:44 PM
I'm baffled by the mental gymnastics it takes to believe that the president can somehow cut the funding of universities, public services, dismantle entire agencies, but the FBI just has to continue this practice because, well... the money has been approved, so now you have to spend it, no?
May 15, 2025 at 4:21 PM
I'm skeptical that any peace agreement will be made here, but if it is, this is basically what Trump will do:
