In de 20st century, ‘breaking through’ was not an uncommon translation, and there are (much older) traditions where even the βιασταί are identified with the believers instead of their opponents.

A multitude of english translations is not much of an argument though, especially since they all seem to just follow Jerome (or each other). Shouldn’t you be a bit suspicious when a theologically convenient reading goes against the grain of the greek like this one?

Isn’t βιάζεται usually understood as a middle voice? The text seems not so clear on the kingdom either creating or suffering violence as your translation suggests.
