I saw a video saying to private accounts so people couldn’t comment or stitch and use our content when we’re unable to respond and potentially correct the narrative. I don’t think I had anything on my account that people would do that to, but better safe than sorry.

At least I was able to put my account to private before I lost it.

I think a lot of people thought it would. I thought I would be safe because I haven’t been in the States recently and my account had a Korean number attached. I wish they would have given us warning about how they were going to do this so that we could have tried to protect our accounts.

Yup… I have a friend here in Korea who also lost her account. And we can’t get TikTok in the Apple App Store despite having our phone region set here and having Korean SIMs in our phones. So we can’t delete and create new accounts.

Actually, I had disconnected my mobile from TT as a precaution so I could create a new account in Korea if this happened. But before that I had a Korean number on the account.

No idea… you can try it, but I can’t say it’s going to work or not because right now I can’t even delete and redownload the app. It’s not showing in my App Store even with my region set to Korea.
