I'm smelling AI involvement. It gets everywhere, like the smell of cooking fish, and just as unwelcome.

There is juuuust enough detail to be convincing. I'm smelling AI.

Morning, Womble! I'm in the last 100pgs of Kushiel's Chosen by Jacqueline Carey which is a sumptuous banquet of a thing and I love it. On digital I'm halfway through Hannah Whitten's For The Wolf. It's s OK but I was expecting it to be somewhat darker, tbh.

Update: after a little lie-down (thanks, Windows update 😖), my laptop has deigned to wake up again, so you bet I backed up to the portable hard drive as well as the cloud ASAP.

Still no fibre though.

You have officially won Best Daughter 2025, I think!

Side note: I used to wear Tuscany and I loved it - I am now well envious of your mom.

Took some seardching but I found it! Red squirrel at our old house, 2013. Picture taken in the rain, through glass, at extreme zoom, on a mobile.

It was only once, and it never came back, despite the feeding station and food I bought for it, the ungrateful wee beggar.

Afternoon, Womble! On paper I am currently enjoying The Neon Court by Kate Griffin (Matthew Swift #3) and gods above and below, I adore these books so much. On digital I'm wrapping up Mark Stay's Witches of Woodville with The Corn Bride: wartime, witches and a wedding!

Happy Sunday Womble! I am currently enjoying Broken Light by Joanne Harris on digital, and on paper God's War by Kameron Hurley. I've had the latter since before her publisher went pop and have no idea why I've not read it yet. It's gritty, pared down prose, great voice and really rather good.

A kind thought, thank you. I have never seen that RSC, though I have seen the other one!

No, not the Plague. I am a lady of a certain age, shall we say, enduring a visit from an unwelcome auntie who had been ignoring me since March. IYKYK.
