Let's say my colleagues, David and Adeola, who are beginning their CMALT journey. You cannot overestimate the value of a local learning community. Also, all those that offer their time and expertise at CMALT Assessors ;)

It is probably more of a resilance thing, so I remind myself that I am there for a reason; my own perceived expertise. The main strategy is to L I S T E N and L E A R N, and apply what I gain from that.

...and to answer the question my work is heavily influenced by legislation and policy, especially around accessibility. Copyright was previously the elephant in the room.

This can look like the trickiest area but it can act as a trigger to reflect on your interaction with legislation and policy, and build upon it. In my case it led me to volunteer to lead and write up our insitutional Ally policy - see my response to Q1 about lenses!

More of a me problem, but indecsion, procrastination and perfectionism are the main challenges. CMALT is incredibly broad and flexible - reflecting the diversity of related roles - so I am often overcome with choice :)

Many reasons: 1) A chance to collate and reflect on my work, 2) it provides a lens through which to view and enhance future projects, 3) to demonstrate commitment to my profession, 4) to engage with ALT, 5) to develop the skills of my team.

2 & 5 are the most relevant to my professional goals
