Of particular concern is the decline in HIV testing among young people and the persistently low PrEP offer to heterosexual people at heightened risk.

Today’s data shows steady progress in expanding HIV testing and increasing access to Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), empowering more people to protect themselves. However, if current trends continue, we still face over 2,000 new HIV diagnoses annually by 2030.

Despite great scientific advances in HIV prevention, there were 1.3M new cases in 2024, including a daily average of 570 new cases among young women aged 15–24. The expansion of The Rocket Fund to $200M is a catalyst to turbocharge our mission & make sure marginalized communities get vital care.

These are important steps forward—but more investment and action are needed to ensure everyone, everywhere has the tools to stay healthy and thrive.

If we want to end AIDS, we can't afford to erase critical HIV prevention, treatment & research programs - especially with long-acting PrEP ready for roll out. Yet the House Appropriations sub-committee’s proposal, which eliminates President Trump’s Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative, does just that.
