The ACA forces(d) *private* health plans (individual and employer) to cover core preventive care without cost-sharing (no copay/deductible/coinsurance) if the services meet specific criteria.

e.g. checking cancers, diabetes, blood pressure/cholesterol, HIV, healthy pregnancy, children's development

At LEAST 50% of the "ignorant" responders are, "I'm too ashamed to put the way I feel"

I love it!

I just finished publishing a guide on "accelerating your scientific paper reading cycle" with the pretext that in staying on top of a field, you *really* need to be able to parse at least 50 whitepaper/journal releases a day; I think Hank's series would be a GREAT demo to link them to!!!

/2 so @buttersv2.bsky.social comment seems relevant at least in regard to the hero's counter not being a mitigated threat.

Saw video clearly showing 2 shooters on the bridge just prior to both being taken down. It's hard to reconcile the gap from the first clip of the Hero, and the second, later clip, showing one shooter getting what looks like headshot and the other shortly thereafter taking a bullet to the upper body.

@rhacodactylus.bsky.social might be of interest if you're still doing study review streams.

Whatever this whole shitshow was aside, @jordainc.bsky.social did a nice piece on internal talks if you are curious what went down leading up to the fold:

How Senate Republicans won the last vote to end the shutdown
Sen. Tim Kaine wanted a “moratorium on mischief” from the Trump administration. He didn't get it until Sunday night.

There are strategic books on when a party leader faces internal cohesion collapse...

If your leader doesn't embrace "I'll primary you" then when members start to roll over:

1. stand firm and lose the faith of your party financiers.

2. play the flip as if you're still in control of your party.

@marcelias.bsky.social isn't the only one to report it this way... there's a half decent start to transparency in this reporting by @jordainc.bsky.social .

If you are curious, here's what went down in order for the Independent and Democratic congressman to fold:

/2 ...then realistically there are only two options:

1) stand firm and lose faith of your party financiers, or
2) play the flip as if you're still in control of your party.

The Senate thought it was more important to protect the filibuster than to protect American healthcare.

Glass half-full, @schumer.senate.gov likely caved because *other* Democratic Party Senators yielded and the vote would be flipped - if you're majority leader doesn't embrace "I'll primary you" /1

I edit regularly, but have yet to initialize an article myself, despite templates etc... It seems daunting. Any suggestions as someone who seems to have chartered new territory?

Hmm. Interesting catch - indeed it suggest individualism in the statement, as opposed to a body of persons.
