I've been really interested in animal sentience for a long time, but now I'm also interested in animal morality, and the evolution of morality, as it seems impossible for humans to be the only ones with the capacity to evolve it.

+ people use how animals hunt each other to demonstrate they are amoral. but how much worse is that than how humans kill other animals? honestly humans are worse.

this doesn't make a lot of sense but I saw a post of someone saying not to demonize dolphins bc they are just animals doing animal behavior. but i doubt thats really true. i am sure they have at least the capacity to develop some moral code bc that ability can't be species specific

& how different from us is their brutal behavior really? Can murder, SA, etc. really be considered aberrant in human society either when it happens so much? we just have developed a more organized society and legal system. I wonder how much of animal culture we just can't understand

i've been thinking ab orcas so much today. dolphins esp orcas r demonized for their brutal behavior, but to me it just reminds me of human behavior. I wonder if dolphins acc have a sense of morality & we r judging them based on their serial killers?
