Yep! We'll send a "landed!" text or, okay, just arrived at the hotel etc but that's definitely not the same as the 24/7 tracking.

Yeah that'd be super weird for me! I'll send a location to my dad if we're going on a hike, and our expected time back, but that would probably be it?

And then there's an option to set up a "public profile", which is really the media part of the social media and completely unnecessary for just chatting with friends. I don't have it, don't need it to communicate with just friends

Yep, all of the default settings are location sharing, and then there's a whole "snap map" so you can see where everyone is.
I'd also turn off the sync with contacts because that seems to deep dive into friends of friends. It's easy to add manually with friends in person .

Haha I believe it, I remember those days! It was also a flight home, but luckily Nan was fairly close so she would have us over for dinner sometimes
