Henry suddenly thrust out a hand to push him back, overwhelmed by the throbbing of this false affection. All it did was pass right through. ...He couldn't touch him. They were separated by the grand barrier of time. But as though it happened... William let him go, pulling away. His teeth grit and bared at Henry, but they weren't flashed to terrify. They grinded together, the hands clutching his face slipping, with William's head dropping. It was hardly a chuckle, what cold crackle rang out. It was too... anguished. Too quiet and subtle. The shell of a man pressed his forehead to Henry's own, sighing as he shut the thick, violet lashes over his empty eyes. He still couldn't feel it. But... the memory. It was buried somewhere in his soul. Memories flooded his memory of a mind. But they were hazy, mere flashes too quick to properly get a look at. At least he saw some of it. Who was this man to him? Why did he want to hold tight to him, never letting go? Why be so close to the hands who set the blaze, the one that consumed him? For just a moment... He pressed his lips in again. Closing his eyes, appearance suddenly fading back to a bygone era. Neither would see how the gnarled hands loosened up, reviving with a cream tone again. The shape of his form was a little fuller, almost healthy again. Those clothes were different, fitting the figure rather than showing who he used to be, his waves of dark hair curling up and flowing down over his chest and back, their color a rich oak, well cared for. And as his eyes opened... For just a moment, they met Henry's. Meeting him again. The past came back, for one final second... Perhaps to say farewell.
