Who cares if it's anti-christian? It's bad and out of this world inhumane regardless of where it comes from

I also kind of feel like even if it's once, it doesn't fit with the "distraction free" value they mentioned earlier.

I'm fairly sure I've seen it at least twice these last few weeks

Guess it depends on what you work on, but personally I still feel it's too early for ARM on desktop, although I'd love it. Portable devices though :chef_kiss:

that's just life, but usually don't actually realize it

Not always. Even people who already donate sees this: bsky.app/profile/embe...
I don't know how I feel about this #gnome

how long is "forever" exactly?

nix for infrastructure is a seriously under-valued piece of technology right now. The immutability and "everything is source code" is invaluable.

Is that a problem? I remember having 1000s of entries at one point (now my DNS resolver runs elsewhere) but never any issues with it.

finally!

Yeah, I'd help fund an effort to make them better by magnitudes, if such effort existed!

No straight recommendations, many options with different flavors. But interesting that you took the polar opposite approach, I started with running NixOS on servers and homelab, and only dipped my feet in using NixOS for my desktop computer! Fun how different people operate :)

I know! That's why I'm already supporting GNOME financially and by leaving good bug reports! But they shouldn't misuse notifications for donation drives :(

Seems like the original meaning of "doxxing" has changed since the inception of the term then, I wasn't aware people have started to use it for "any personal information leaks".

Why words always become more and more general instead of more specific? What's the point when the meanings change?!
November 28, 2025 at 1:26 PM
"Handling and publish other people's sensitive information" is very different from doxxing though, associating someone's online nickname with a real identity.

Couldn't "right to be forgotten" also be used for people avoiding being held accountable, as they can effectively erase history?

To be fair, the more trivial you make the note/blog/complaint/perspective/joke, the more they'll find to pick apart :)

The reverse is almost the challenge here, make a complicated and nuanced argument that still gets 150+ comments arguing about it, "the reverse bike-shed that never was"
