we have played another ttrpg before (tiny frog wizards), tho this is very minimal and freeform so i'm not sure it esp counts. i think it helps that WBT is relatively minimal in terms of mechanics, so it's easy to pick up (as opposed to e.g. call of cthulu)

our DM found a tumblr post promoting it, and read thru the handbook and enjoyed it. she's had escape fantasies about turning into some manner of beast and not being responsible for her actions (*cough* killing her shitty housemates) so was pretty eager to teach us the system and run a game in it <3

that makes sense!! tbh i don't think your explaining is the issue, more that we're very used to turn based, very limited and firm combat as in dnd. not all of had read the handbook in detail either - i'd skimmed through the combat section, but was mostly relying on relayed explanations from our dm

This so amazing to hear - thank you for telling me about your game.
And thank you for saying such lovely things about my tiny little werewolf game.
I'm stoked to hear that you're putting your own spin on it, and that's it's working for you.

11/10 also it's wild to me that you only have like 4 comments on itch about it? and no attention anywhere else? i was under the impression it was much larger until like yesterday, you absolutely deserve so much more interest than you get.

we absolutely fucking love playing what big teeth, i think our first dm is also planning another episode, and we absolutely plan to continue playing after that indefinitely. it's such a good time, i love my lil guy (an insomniac called Brooke), i love playing a werewolf. tysm for making it <3 10/10

it's looking like a coworker of ours murdered his crush for getting a partner or new job or something? or someone else murdered them and this coworker went and buried him in the woods in their favourite spot? at the dead of night dragging a body all the way thru the woods? 9/10?

we've played one session since (we only really see each other in holidays, so don't get to play much), where one of our players rose up to dm (johnny (our manager) is so much friendlier and more southern now lol). we don't know details especially but 8/?

our dm for that episode (group of four sessions) was fucking INCREDIBLE btw. turns out she's amazing at being a scary manager (shouting at us, docking pay, etc) and also crafting such. i don't have the words but i was absolutely feeling things about our grim during and after the session. 7/?

also you probably guessed from the name, we play it in a fairly lighthearted way - that was pretty doomed from the start since we're that sorta group. it's definitely nice playing a more serious game tho, it's fucking wild having your heart torn up by a villain once you understand her motives. 6/?

and guidance on how to create flawed characters that fit well within the game and its vibe. we're still tryna figure out combat (our least experienced player found it a lot easier than the rest of us) but we will get there!! 5/?

genuinely. we are enjoying playing this system so much. being encouraged do worldbuilding as a group was so fucking good, i think it's helped us all be more invested in the world and our characters because of it. i also really appreciate the social mechanics, ability to worldbuild on the fly, 4/?

the log flume is horribly overstimulating, has terrible water quality (which we get splashed with every 30s or so) (a dead body was found in it first session) (we don't think it's been cleaned since), have a year-round uniform, and obv deal with the usual entitled customers and shitty manager 3/?

this is our first proper foray away from dnd as a group, and we are having so so so much fun with it. we're a group of 5 (so 4 players) and work at a shitty theme park called Dis Knee Land (designed to catch people who thought they were going to Disney Land) on the log flume 2/?
