I proffer the following photos from my sister's garden in Noojee, VIC, Australia last week: exquisitely curated Blue Things for The Ladies
A path of Blue Things (bottle tops, a pen, torn scraps of tarpaulin etc), each item obsessively and precisely placed on the ground with the occasional pale leaf or piece of pale bark as highlighting, leads to the bower of a Satin Bowerbird in my sister's garden in the mountains of Victoria, Australia A close up photo of the bower, an archway of dead grass and sticks constructed by the Satin Bowerbird that lives in my sister's garden. Carefully and meaningfully sourced and placed small blue plastic items are also visible in shot. All efforts are part of a courtship display that includes a song and dance number by the male bird.
