It’s Pride weekend in my city, and eternal “just let trans people live FFS” day for me & mine. Here’s one more pattern from Dee’s Twenty Stitches. #embroidery #crossstitch #stitchsky
Close-up of a cross-stitch pennant on navy blue aida, featuring the words “gender-affirming care saves lives” along with two rampant lions, a crown, and flourishes. I was itching for some more blackwork, and this design by The Urban Stitches offered the perfect chance to use this variegated Cosmo floss. #crossstitch #blackwork #embroidery #stitchsky
Close-up on blackwork embroidery stitched on white aida fabric. Multicolored variegated floss creates a square backdrop of a dense blackwork design. Within the square are the words “how empty is life without color.” The words are outlined in black in a gothic font. Blackwork embroidery stitched on white aida fabric. Many months after the auction closed, here’s the final set of my garter commissions from the OFMD Craft Fair. Sueded silk with a woodland scene + antlers to illustrate a silly pun inspired by a historical poesy ring. Close-up below, because I’m pretty proud of my tiny hart. #embroidery #stitchsky
A set of ribbon garters. The ribbons are pale yellow grosgrain. The fabric is cream sueded silk, with detailed embroidery. The first garter features an embroidered woodland scene of trees, flowers, a stag with antlers (aka a hart), and the words “you have my hart.” The second garter features embroidery of two antlers bedecked with flowers, and the words “please give it back.”

More garter commissions! Velvet ribbon, hellebore, and Icelandic poppy, with a steamy (for the time period) motto from a poesy ring. Close-ups below for fiber freaks who wanna ogle some tiny thread painting. (Cross-posted from my fandom account.)

A set of ribbon garters. The ribbons are mustard yellow velvet. The fabric is white, with detailed floral embroidery of hellebore and Icelandic poppies in shades of yellow, pink, peach, orange, red, and purple. Embroidered text on the garters is in a gothic Old English-style font, and reads “I long to have but blush to crave.”

Did you know that getting called a crybaby as a neurodivergent child will mess you up so much that your therapist encourages you to make weird art about it decades later? True story. (Photography, watercolor, cotton, and beads.)
#fiberart #embroidery #stitchsky
Close-up of an embroidery piece with white fabric and a printed photo outline of a crying human eye, painted in green watercolor and embroidered with various shades of green floss and beads. The iris of the eye features smooth, tidy stitches; the tears are stitched in a textured, unruly style.

The penultimate design phase for the final set of commissioned garters from the OFMD Craft Fair. (Text blurred for more of a reveal once I’ve actually stitched them.) Cross-posted from my fandom account.

Pencil-drawn designs for two floral garters, with text that’s blurred out. Around the designs are several skeins of colorful embroidery floss and some lovely velvet ribbon in mustard yellow.

A new patch for my swim gear bag! From a pattern by @badstitch.bsky.social. I tried a different finishing/edging technique, and while it looks a little wonky, I think that only adds to the charm.

Close-up of a round patch made of white aida fabric and featuring a stylized mushroom design with a rainbow stripes for the gills and stars on the cap.

Another finish from the Let’s Make A Statement series by Dee’s Twenty Stitches. Happy Pride Month, keep fighting for a world in which this statement is implicitly understood and respected.
#embroidery #crossstitch #stitchsky
A pennant of navy blue aida fabric with these words cross-stitched on it: “Trans folks always have been and will be.” The words “trans folks” are stitched in the colors of the trans flag. The words are embellished with little images of planet Earth, as well as a bird and some vines.

Got this far as of last night. It will soon be time to take it off the hoop for completion of this square. Improvisational hand stitched modular #FiberArt #SciArt - one piece of a NeuroArt piece
A hand holding a blue hoop with canvas that is mostly covered with yellow and blue embroidery within the hoop circle. All embroidery is hand stitched in different stitches and colors. Lots of swirls, a heart and some flower shapes stand out. There are also beads and sequins Close up of hand embroidery - yellows and oranges on top with blue tones on bottom. There is a huge variety of stitches and colors within the primary tones.

Support that’s contingent upon spending power or respectability isn’t actually support. Corporations have never loved us and never will.
Pattern: Dee’s Twenty Stitches

A pennant made of navy blue aida. Brightly colored cross stitching features the words "queer liberation will not come from rainbow capitalism" along broken chain motifs, a rainbow, and a starburst. The starburst & chains are in the colors of the trans flag.

When so much is happening to provoke fear & distress, I'm trying VERY hard to avoid the bottomless pit of worry. When there's nothing practical I can do, making stuff helps. Every wonky satin stitch on this pattern by BZ Creations helped my nervous system stay regulated. From 3.9.25. #embroidery
White fabric In a bamboo embroidery hoop. On the fabric, in rainbow colors, are embroidered images of various art and craft tools. Rainbow lettering in the center reads “create more, worry less”

Forgot to cross-post this from my fandom account! A cross-stitch pillowcase from the local reuse center + a pattern by @darcylindbergh.bsky.social from the OFMD Craft Fair = fiber art joy for this angry queer pirate fan. From 4.24.25.

#crossstitch #stitchsky #needlework #embroidery
An armchair containing a white pillow. The pillowcase is cross-stitched with an extremely fun and deeply cool design featuring a rainbow flourish and black lettering that reads “our fight, our family.”

Stitched this pattern by Heretic Designs for a friend who's doing her best despite a workplace where this advice is ignored. I used unbranded variegated floss from the reuse center, because why NOT bring some candypop flair to everyday resistance?

#crossstitch #stitchsky #needlework #embroidery
A hand holding a cross-stitch piece featuring the words “don’t obey in advance” in bright, candy-colored embroidery floss stitched on lavender linen. The piece has fringed edges and is held up with a wooden stick threaded through the top.

I started these wintry foxes in September 2024, but didn’t finish them until March 2025 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I still like the frosty vibes of the pastels with the gray aida. Pattern: XCrossStitchPatternX. From 3.19.25.

A white-painted embroidery hoop containing gray aida. Cross stitching depicts a folk-art design of four white foxes and various flowers in lavender, blue, pink, and white.
