It really made me feel like The Great Pumpkin. Like I had found the most sincere house celebrating surrounded by darkened windows. As I continued my trek, I saw some kids close and ominously pointed in the house's direction. I hope they got to hand out some candy. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! 🎃

Then the sidewalks started again, I see their house and they are out! The couple had a table set up and as I approached I heard an excited "Go get the candy!". I presented the beanie and as I walked away heard a VERY happy "WE WON AN AWARD!!!" continued...

This is my 3rd year doing this so I tried to expand my walking area a bit to spread the magic. It lead to my favorite interaction of the night. I was off the beaten path. No kids, no lights, no sidewalks, was in a horror movie, would they even be out, was it a waste going this far? continued...
