There's quite a lot of local/popular hikes in Tokyo that I did back in 2022-23 before I started doing my hiking blog. I'm hoping to slowly revisit them all and write posts about it. Plenty to keep myself busy with for the rest of the year, I think!

I think anything that you enjoy is best! It's easier to learn a language when you are enjoying it, in my opinion (easier to do after work when you are tired etc).

Yeah there's still plenty of great hikes to do though! E.g. Mt Kuju down in Kyushu, or if you want to stay closer to Tokyo, maybe a local mountain like Mt Tanzawa or Mt Kumotori is on the harder side (~20km)
And thank you! I'd love to try out some hiking in China one day.

Heya! Unfortunately I don't have much experience in off season hiking in the Alps - anywhere at the 2500m+ mark will be covered in snow! So you will need to bring gear like crampons + ice axe.
