Absolutely gasping for an 800 pg GFM epic. Some other post of yours is what got me to read Wolfe for the first time and I dunno how I’d overlooked him my whole life.

It's also so absurd that "let people enjoy things" always seems to be about juggernaut properties like marvel or hp. And like... does the mere existence of a critical opinion spin you out? Did you think it was the best thing ever created and beyond reproach? Cmon. And you can like mid stuff it's ok!

Rando from omaha who loved your andor reviews checking in. Loved the show so much and getting to really sit with it through your reviews made it even more fulfilling.

They got caught with their pants down and basso’s trying to give the farmer some kind of advantage — doesn’t mean it’s gonna work, but maybe it all gets bogged down in bureaucracy, gives the farmer time to run, etc.

the attitude of the imperials and brasso’s talk about being labor used up doesn’t fit betraying rebels to me. And if imperials aren’t putting the same lens on random undocumented workers as suspected rebels re: interrogation maybe they squeak by without revealing their involvement.

I read the scene as Brasso shielding the farmer — it felt like he was putting on a show and I thought the meaningful look was recognizing it. It also seemed like they nabbed as undocumented, not as Ferix fugitives which doesn’t seem like the right betrayal if that makes sense. Have to watch again.

Got a sampler and they are, perhaps predictably, similar vibe to protein bars/shakes with more of a Hershey bar texture. Fine in a shake where the question is “can I choke this down” but pales in comparison to even the shittiest actual candy.

Any book critics you’d recommend? I feel like I have many sources of good criticism for TV and movies to find something new (your Patreon being one of my favs) but for books I feel like I’m always struggling.
