/2 They come with a pre-installed lithium ion battery that cannot be swapped or recharged and that is rated for a runtime of ten years. I have three of those in my house and so far no issues. Thankfully they also never had to detect smoke. Don't remember if I have ever tested them.

That depends. I prefer those that don't have an indicator light thing that keeps blinking at me. Very annoying, IMO. Other than that I use what I would describe as bog-standard smoke detector 5; made by Ei Electronics (www.eielectronics.de), model Ei650. /1
