thermal printers are what most businesses use for label printing. every usps label, every amazon label, is printed using one. because they only need a thin piece of metal to apply heat, they make thermal printers that fit in one hand.

basically it prints via imprinting a film onto the paper using heat. way way way way way cheaper than a normal printer. you used to have to have a roll of thermal film that acted as the ink that was a pain but now the paper itself has the film in it. its plug and play.
