It's probably "sunken costs". A lot of Tekken players have already put a lot of time into other Tekken games. Knowledge of those games translates well to the newer games. I think Tekken players don't want to give up on the game even if they hate it, because they already have so much experience.

It's his right to fire experts and replace them with lackies who don't have the appropriate experience? I guess you can say it is his right, but he deserves all the criticism for it, including the label "authoritarian"

They weren't authoritarian at all. Intent matters. The purpose was clearly with regards to health and safety. Not following these rules put other people's health at risk. There was nothing political about the measures. Furthermore, they were temporary until covid cases declined.

Is this an attempt to imply that mandated vaccines and the covid curfews were wrong?

Furthermore, presidents in the past have routinely hired or kept on reputable individuals from opposing parties because presidents need someone to challenge their perspective, not to simply agree with everything. But again, this isn't what I was talking about, he removed experts and added cronies.

This is not mere opposition. The people that he has fired are experts that have served presidents of both parties. The people he has put in generally have no relevant expertise in the jobs they've been assigned to, and have poor track records. This is well established.

I wasn't actually referring to Jimmy Kimmel but regardless, he doesn't actually have to succeed in taking him off the air, just the threats, and the pressure being applied with his presidential power, is enough to qualify as authoritarian.

There's so much more that can be said that it makes me wonder how you could ask such a question.

4) Fired lots of experts, replaced with his cronies that just tell him what he wants them to say
5) Took down a lot of important scientific studies on issues like covid. Targeted museums/exhibits in an attempt to take down their works on black history and anything that is against his narrative

I'll entertain this question for a moment...
1) Mass weaponization of justice system against people he doesn't like, especially people who did their jobs prosecuting him.
2) Ignored court orders on a wide variety of issues
3) Threatened to shut down news organizations that said bad things about him

I really recommend watching Diaphone's videos about the game

The two main ways are
- call a horizontal assist while you're jumping in. If they anti-air you, they'll get hit with the assist, though they can still air to air you
- call a projectile assist (that stays back, like JInx) as you are running forward. If they attack you as you are running, assist hits

Are you going to answer the question? What is your definition of "people" or "consciousness"?

I agree with you btw, these anti-AI drones remind me of how some people acted when the internet first came out.

Furthermore, I don't see why reason/rationality cannot be seen as mechanical. What is it about reason/rationality that you think cannot be achieved (in principle) by an AI?

Not considering AI for the moment, evolution generally modifies existing traits incrementally, it does not suddenly create new traits. For this reason, it doesn't make sense to think of rationality as being a unique trait.

Stumbled upon this discussion just now. First, I don't think being able to reason or to be rational are binary traits. They should be viewed as gradients. As such, different creatures (and yes, even AIs) would have differently levels of rationality.

Speaking of which, I didn't like Fritz's antics near the end of the set against Marozsan. He got his reality check last night against Perricard.

What'd he do? I missed his match...but did you see Fritz vs Mpetshi Perricard? That was nuts.
