We were taught that art is a byproduct of suffering, and that any remedy for said suffering would compromise that creativity. Well. I’m here to tell you that’s not true.

I used to believe, because I had been told this over and over by society, that any natural ability or talent I had as an actor or writer was connected to my anxiety and OCD.

Here’s a clip from the NOCD podcast that went live today— you can listen to it anywhere you get podcasts or watch it on YouTube youtu.be/9MzTXXyzkms — where I talk about the pervasive myth that keeps so many people from getting help for things like OCD.

Please share this with anyone you know who is affected by OCD or loves someone who is. I’m really honored to keynote the IOCDF conference this summer and share my story in hopes of normalizing ocd and eliminating stigma around mental health!!

I got to graduate from high school (twice!), dance at #scarlettjohansson’s Super Sweet 16, stare at #AmyAdams, wait in line with #tomhanks, and watch all the magic come together between Thurs night and the wee hours of Sun morning.

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, I honor all the ancestors I never met, the ones I only recently learned of, and the ones who survived & told me their stories.
I share pieces of my family’s stories of survival & escape in both THE COLOR OF SOUND and in my forthcoming on THREE PIECES OF BROKEN GLASS.
