This is from the Ridgeline trail in Eugene. There are houses all around the place where I took the photo but you wouldn’t know it if you stood and looked a certain way. Like you said it’s all about finding that spot, or as I like to say, I’m putting my civilization blinders on 😀

I’ve grown garlic for the last 12 years. It’s one of the easier things to grow—plant around Halloween and harvest around July 4th. It requires almost zero watering here in rainy Oregon and usually lasts until the next harvest meaning I never have to buy garlic.

Got bulbs? I do now. Time to grow some garlic 🧄 🧄 🧄

The reason bad jokes are still funny is because every laugh needs an ugh.

Got my covid shot today and didn’t turn into a pumpkin. Thanks, Oregon!
Standing in front of a pile of pumpkins outside my local Albertsons and sporting a fresh bandaid in my arm.

Waking the Moon by Elizabeth Hand might qualify as dark academia, definitely collegiate and occult. I read it ages ago when I was into everything witchy, but the fictional university setting and scholarly lives of the characters are what stuck with me.

Eating fresh cobbler made from the blackberries you got poison oak while picking is an Oregon experience.

Celebrating @braxtol.bsky.social today and every day. Appreciating waterfalls together since 2006 😘

Not quite the pastry of my dreams but these hasty blackberry scones will suffice.

I found the section of the library where my cat belongs.
Book covers on a library shelf for My Beloved Monster and Starter Villain, both covers depicting intense long haired cats. Domino, a long haired white cat with gray spots and a permanently disgruntled expression.
