There is virtually no evidence to support any nutritional guidance for cancer patients, period, so why would an LLM be able to generate personalized nutritional guidance and, more importantly, how could we possibly assess whether it's beneficial to the patient?

To my knowledge there are no commercial products that draw from "only vetted medical sources," although there are several high profile VC-backed companies that market themselves as such because physicians (and institutional buyers and the WSJ) don't know what RAG is.

I give the authors some credit for including this figure, which demonstrates that their model is not infrequently beaten by one that only uses age, sex, race/ethnicity, and BMI.
